A huge thanks to every person whose expertise continues to drive the project forward for Cowichan communities! Event organizers, Shannon, Shaneen and Roxanne from EllisDon Local subcontracted landscapers, Apex Landscaping Ltd., paused their workday to share lunch and chat with safety suppliers. Celebrating Construction Crews & Safety on the Worksite Minister of Infrastructure Bowinn Ma, Cowichan Valley MLA Debra Toporowski and media joined us for a behind-the-scenes tour, and a visit with local mayors and chairs for the Cowichan Valley Regional District and Cowichan District Hospital Foundation. In May, BC's Minister of Infrastructure, Bowinn Ma, joined Cowichan Valley MLA Debra Toporowski, project leaders and media representatives for a special behind-the-scenes site tour highlighting progress and key milestones. More than 80% of the workforce is local to the region and more than 200 Indigenous tradespeople and apprentices, including members of Cowichan Tribes, Penelakut, Stz'uminus, and Malahat Nations, have contributed to building the hospital.
