Progress continues skyward at the
construction site on Bell McKinnon Road.
These photos show the vertical progress,
from July 2023 to July 2024, highlighting the
pace and the crew's commitment to
completing construction in 2026. Once the
interior spaces are ready, staff will have time
to test and train within the new hospital in
preparation for the first patient care day in
2027.
In the future Diagnostic & Treatment
Centre (D&T), the crews celebrated a
project milestone marking structural steel
completion of this important outpatient and
diagnostic service wing of the new hospital.
In the adjacent Inpatient Unit (IPU), workers
continue with forming level 7 of the tower as
teams continue to build the reach out wing
and future home of the Indigenous Health
program wing and administrative space
above.
Civil work also continues with installation of
water and sanitary lines on Bell McKinnon
Road and widening of Bell McKinnon north
of the build site.
Over the coming months, construction will
continue with the closing up of the exterior
envelope and interior works within levels 0,
1, and 2 of the D&T following removal of
crane 2.
